BUNDESLIGA MANAGERS DURING THEIR FOOTBALL CAREERS 2018/19


Last week started a new German Bundesliga season. This will be the first season without HSV who played in every edition of German top football league. Bayern Munchen is a winner of last six seasons and also the main favorite to win it also this year. They have a new coach from this summer. It's their former player Niko Kovač. I continue to present you each of top 5 Europe leagues managers during their senior careers. Some of these managers never played football professionally like Domenico Tedesco, Florian Kohfeldt and Michael Kollner. Julian Nagelsmann played for youth of 1860 Munchen and Augsburg but knee injuries ended his career.


Manuel Baum (Augsburg): Here in FC Ismaning. He played as goalkeeper. Number 1 on this picture. He played for Ismaning from 1998 to 2006.

Pal Dardai (Hertha): Here in same club in 2002/03. He is most capped player in Hertha history.

Florian Kohfeldt (Werder Bremen): Here as coach of Werder B team in 2016/17. 

Lucien Favre (Borussia Dortmund): Here in Servette 1984/85

Friedhelm Funkel (Fortuna Dusseldorf): Here in Kaiserslautern 1981/82

Adolf Hutter (Eintracht Frankfurt): Here in Casino Salzburg 1994/95

MANAGERIAL CHANGES:

Markus Weinzierl (Stuttgart): Markus is former footballer of Bayern Munchen where he played mostly for B team. He last worked as Schalke coach in 2017.

Peter Bosz (Bayer Leverkusen): New coach of Bayer is former Dutch national team player Peter Bosz. He last coached Borussia Dortmund.


Thomas Doll (Hannover 96): Former German national team player Doll is a new coach of Hannover. Before this he was coach of Ferencvaros and he already coached two teams in Bundesliga: HSV and Borussia Dortmund. 


Boris Schommers (Nurnberg): Nurnberg co-trainer became a new first trainer of Nurnberg.


Huub Stevens (Schalke): Stevens is a new manager of Schalke. He already worked as their manager for seven years. He also coached many other German clubs.


Martin Schmidt (Augsburg): Former Switzerland footballer Schmidt is a new Augusburg coach. He already coached Mainz and Wolfsburg in Germany.


Nico Willig (Stuttgart): New Stuttgart interim coach.
