LA LIGA MANAGERS DURING THEIR FOOTBALL CAREERS 2018/19


After Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga here we have La Liga managers during their football career. All of them played football professionally but I couldn't find picture from Jose Bordalas. During summer even 9 clubs changed their coaches. After winning 3rd Champions League title, Zidane resigned as Real Madrid manager. Their new coach is Julen Lopetegui.

Jose Bordalas (Getafe): He played in fourth division and regional leagues of Spain football. Couldn't find any photo. Here as Elche manager in 2010/11

Eusebio Sacristan (Girona): Here in Atletico Madrid in 1987/88

Leo Franco (Huesca): Here in Atletico Madrid in 2008/09

Mauricio Pellegrino (Leganes): Here in Valencia 2002/03

Paco Lopez (Levante): Here as player of Hercules in 1993/94

Michel (Rayo Vallecano): Here as player of that club in 2000/01

Quique Setien (Real Betis): Here in Racing Santander in 1981/82

Julen Lopetegui (Real Madrid): Here in Vallecano in 2000/01

Asier Garitano (Real Sociedad): On picture as a part of Athletic Bilbao B team in 1989/90 

Pablo Machin (Sevilla): Here in Numancia. Picture from 90s

Marcelino (Valenica): Here in Sporting Gijon in 1987/88

Sergio Gonzalez (Valladolid): Here in Espanyol in 2000/01

Javier Calleja (Villarreal): He was also their player. Here on picture season 2001/02

MANAGERIAL CHANGES:

Francisco (Huesca): After Leo Franco new Huesca manager is Francisco Javier Rodriguez Vilchez. Here you can see him in Albacete 2004/05.


Santiago Solari (Real Madrid): After bad results with Lopetegui, Real Madrid new coach is their former player Santiago Solari. Before this he was Real Madrid B coach.


Miguel Cardoso (Celta): New Celta manager is Miguel Cardoso. He never played football professionally. Here you can see him as Shakhtar assistant coach. After that he was main coach of Rio Ave and Nantes.


Gaizka Garitano (Athletic Bilbao): New Bilbao coach is their former player Gaizka Garitano but he played only one match for first team. Before this he was manager of B team.


Luis Garcia Plaza (Villarreal): Garcia Plaza is Spain former footballer who played only for smaller clubs in Spain. He is now new coach of Villarreal. He was already there but as a B team coach. He was last working as Beijing Renhe coach. 


Imanol Alguacil (Real Sociedad): New Real Sociedad coach is their former player Imanol. He was already their coach in 2018.


Javier Calleja (Villarreal): New/old Villarreal coach is Javier Calleja. He was already their coach in this season, until december 2018 when he got sacked and replaced by Luis Garcia Plaza.


Fran Escriba (Celta Vigo): Escriba never played senior football. He previous worked as manager of Elche, Getafe, Villarreal...


Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid): New/old manager. He already won 9 trophies with Real.

 
Joaquin Caparros (Sevilla): Caparros already worked as Sevilla manager from 2000 to 2005 and again in 2018 as caretaker.


Paco Jemez (Rayo Vallecano): Former Spain national team player Paco Jemez is a new coach of Rayo Vallecano where he already worked from 2012 to 2106.
