LIGUE 1 MANAGERS DURING THEIR FOOTBALL CAREERS 2018/19

Few weeks ago new season of France Ligue 1 started. Paris Saint Germain are defending champions. New promoted teams are Reims and Nimes.
Here you can see all Ligue 1 club managers during their senior football careers. Only two of them weren't professional footballers, Leonardo Jardim and Miguel Cardoso. Both are from Portugal.

Christophe Galtier (Lille): Here in Toulouse 1992/93

Bruno Genesio (Lyon): Here in same club in 1992/93

Rudi Garcia (Marseille): Here in Lille 1985/86

Leonardo Jardim (Monaco): Here as Sporting CP coach in 2013/14

Michel Der Zakarian (Montpellier): Here as Montpellier player in 1995/96

Miguel Cardoso (Nantes): As he never played football professionally here you can see him as Braga assistant manager in 2010/11

Patrick Vieira (Nice): Here in Arsenal in 1996/97

Bernard Blaquart (Nimes): Here in Bordeaux 1980/81

Thomas Tuhel (Paris Saint Germain): Here in Stuttgarter Kickers 1992/93

David Guion (Reims): Here in Angers 1993/94

Sabri Lamouchi (Rennes): Here in Sochaux 1994/95

Jean-Louis Gasset (Saint-Etienne): Here in Montpellier 1978/79

Thierry Laurey (Strasbourg): Here in Montpellier 1995/96

Alain Casanova (Toulouse): Here in Le Havre 1987/88

MANAGERIAL CHANGES:

Ricardo Gomes (Bordeaux): Former Brazilian national team player Ricardo Gomes is new coach of Bordeaux after Gus Poyet got sacked. Here you can see Ricardo as player of Benfica in 1995/96.

Vahid Halilhodžić (Nantes): Bosnian Vahid Halilhodžić is a new Nantes manager. He was also a Nantes player where he won Ligue 1 title in 1983. Here you can see him in Velež Mostar 1974/75.


Thierry Henry (Monaco): New Monaco coach is former France legendary striker Thierry Henry. He started his career in same club. He is a World Cup and EURO champion. He also won lot of other trophies. 


Jocelyn Gourvennec (Guingamp): New Guingamp manager is former France footballer Gourvennec. He was last coach of Bordeaux.


Julien Stephan (Rennes): New Rennes coach, Julien Stephan. Until now he was coach of Rennes B team.


Antoine Kombouare (Dijon): New Dijon coach. He last worked as Guingamp coach.


Leonardo Jardim (Monaco): Back on Monaco bench.


Paulo Sousa (Bordeaux): Sousa replaces Ricardo Gomes as Bordeaux manager. Former Portuguese national team player last worked as Tijanjin coach.
