World Cup for Costa Rica was back in 1990. This will be their 5th World Cup.
BEST RESULT: Their best result was round of 16 in 1990. About that
generation is filmed a movie “Italia 90“. In 2014 they made even better result
when they reached quarter-final. As you probobly know they took first place in
a very hard group with three previous WC winners: Uruguay, Italy and England. In
first group match they were better then Uruguay, then Italy and in last match
Costa Rica drawn with England. In round of 16 Costa Rica faced Greece and after
1-1 in regular time they went through after penalties (5-3). On the same way
Netherland kicked them out in next round. After 0-0 in 120 min Oranje was
better on penalites (4-3). At the end Cost Rica finished 8th from 32 nations.
