Great former France midfielder. As a national team captain, he led France to EURO title in 2000. He was also a team captain at World Cup 1998. Winner of several other great trophies in his playing career. In 2001 he started his coaching career with Monaco. Since 2012 he is manager of France where he won WC title in 2018 and was EURO runner-up, on home soil, two years before.

BEST RESULT: They won two titles, first in 1984 and other in 2000. In the latter tournament France took second place in a group with co-host nation Netherlands, Czech Republic and Denmark. They won the first two and lost to Netherlands. In the knock-out stage France first faced Spain and won 2-1. Semi-final and final matches were decided with golden goals. First Zidan scored in the semi-final and Trezeguet in the final against Italy. Both those matches finished 1-1 in regular time. We have to mention Wiltord who scored an equaliser goal in the last minute of the final match.
