They faced host England in the semi-finals. After one goal from each side, the match was decided on PKs. Southgate missed in the 6th series and Germany was into the final. Germany played against Czech with whom they already played in a group stage. Match was a bit different but with the same final winner. The Germans were better by a golden goal from Bierhoff after 1-1 in a regular time.
