UEFA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP TOP SCORERS

First European championship was held in 1960 in France. Since we are talking about goalscorers, Ronaldo scored the most goals in tournament history: 12 goals. Platini is second with 9 goals. All of them came in the 1984 tournament edition. He played five matches which is an average of 1,80 goals per match. Johan Vonlanthen is the youngest goalscorer (18y 141 days; vs France in 2004) while Ivica Vastić is the oldest (38y 257 days; vs Poland in 2008). Dmitri Kirichenko needed only 67 seconds to score against Greece in 2004 which is the fastest goal in EURO history.

EURO 1960:

Fracois Heutte, Dražan Jerković, Milan Galić, Valentin Ivanov and Viktor Ponedelnik: 2 goals each

EURO 1964:

Dezso Novak, Ferenc Bene and Jesus Maria Pereda: 2 goals each

EURO 1968:

Dragan Džajić was top scorer with two goals

EURO 1972:

Gerd Muller with four goals

EURO 1976:

Gerd's namesake Dieter was top scorer of 1976 EURO edition with four goals.

EURO 1980:

Third time in a row that German was a top scorer. This time Klaus Allofs scored three goals.

EURO 1984:

Michel Platini scored nine goals which is a record for one player in one tournament.

EURO 1988:

Five goals from Marco as Netherland won their first and only EURO title. 

EURO 1992:

Four players scored three goals in Sweden '92: Dennis Bergkamp, Henrik Larsen, Karlheinz Riedle and Tomas Brolin.

EURO 1996:

Alan Shearer with five goals.

EURO 2000:

Patrick Kluivert and Savo Milošević scored five goals each

EURO 2004:

Milan Baroš was top scorer in 2004 with 5 goals.

EURO 2008:

David Villa scored four goals as Spain won their second EURO title.

EURO 2012:

Even six players scored three goals. They are: Alan Dzagoev, Cristiano Ronaldo, Fernando Torres and three Mario's: Balotelli, Gomez and Mandžukić. Officialy golden boot was given to Torres. Except 3 goals he also had an assist, same as Gomez, but played less minutes.

EURO 2016:

With six goals Griezmann won golden both in 2016.

EURO 2020:

Cristiano Ronaldo with 5 goals. Schick scored same as he but CR added one assist.
