late 90s. At that time they played in quarter and semi final of Champions
League. In 1997/98 edition of CL they beat Barcelona in both group matches (3-0

went to semi-final.
In semi-final another European giant was waiting for
them, Bayern Munchen. First match was played in Kyiv. Around 88 000 fans where

78' min Effenberg scored and Bayern was only one goal down. Several minutes
before end Jancker scored the equalizer.
"I didn't cry after the match but my disappointment
was profound. I guess if I'd scored my second then, Bayern would not have got
back into the game. I'm still sure that Dynamo were stronger that season; the
German side basically got three goals out of nothing." Bayern went on to
complete a remarkable comeback on home turf; they would receive a heavy dose of
their own medicine in the final, however.- Vitaly Kosovskiy
In second match Mario Basler scored for Bayern win. Bayern
went to final but will lose it from Man. United after amazing comeback in
referee time.
With 8 goals Shevchenko and United's Dwight York were top
