ANDREAS BREHME [1960-2024]

German defender who played as left-back, wing-back or defensive midfielder. One of the legends of German football. He played for Saarbrücken, Kaiserslautern, Bayern, Inter, Zaragoza and again Kaiserslautern where he finished his playing career in 1998. Winner of two Bundesliga titles, first one with Bayern and second with Kaiserslautern after relegation and winning 2. Bundesliga title. One Scudetto and UEFA Cup with Nerazzurri. Amnog other titles on club level. 86 matches for DFB. He was part of every major tournament from his debut in 1984 to 1994 when he played last match for the national team. Played in two WC finals, winning the second of them in 1990 where he scored the title goal against Argentina. He also lost the UEFA EURO final in 1992 against Denmark. Brehme died from a cardiac arrest.
