JAVIER ZANETTI- INTER LEGEND


Javier Adelmar Zanetti is former footballer from Argentina. He was born in Bueno Aires. His parents had Italian origins. His father was a bricklayer and mother was cleaner. He is legend of Argentina and Italy Serie A where he played most of his career with Inter Milano. He played as a defender or a midfilder. 

He started his career in Argentina in Talleres at that time second league team. Before that he was rejected from a local Independiente. Then he moved to first division Banfield where he stayed for few season before moved to Italy. 

In Italy he played till the end of his career where he played only for Inter. 850 matches in Inter jersey with 21 goal. 16 major trophies including Treble in 2009/10 seasaon. Inter retired number 4 in his honor. He is Inter footballer with most matches in their history, but he is also a foreign player with most matches in Serie A.  

With 143 app he is most capped player in history of Argentina national team. He represented his team at 5 Copa America and 2 World Cups. With national team he never won any major trophie. In total he played 1114 official matches during his career. 

In the history of football he will be rembered for his leadership, stamina and tireless runs to attack and back to deffence. He is highly respected from all football fans and other footballers. He was calm, quick, string and physically fit player in his prime, with outstanding physical attributes, excellent ball control, dribbling, ability and acceleration. 

His first club was Talleres. He played there one season in second division. 

2nd club of his career was Banfield. He played there from 1993-1995. His only sticker during his time in Argentina. Publisher is Cromy 1994. 

Zanetti made his debut for Argentina in 1994 against Chile. This is his Copa America 1995 sticker. Publisher is Mundy Cromo. 

First season with Inter 1995-96. He was signed along with Sebastian Rambert. Zanetti become Massimo Moratti's first-ever purchase. First season with new team and he immediately proved why he was bought. Zaneti made his debut for Inter on 27 August 1995 against Vicenza. This is his first official Panini sticker. All his stickers in Inter were published by Panini. 




In season 1997/98 Zanetti won UEFA Cup with Inter. 


First World cup with Argentina. There was no official sticker published by Panini so this should be some photoshop. Argintina lost in quarter-final from Netherland.

Stickers from Calciatori Panini and Champions League album for 2005/06 season. In this season Zanetti won his first Scudetto. He is going to win Serie A titles in next four seasons. 

Zanetti was not called up for the 2006 World Cup. Jose Pekerman was Argentinian coach. 


Copa America 2007 Panini sticker. Zanetti was capitan in that tournament. Argentina reached final where they lost to Brazil (0-3). 



One of the best seasons in Inter history. Under coach Jose Mourinho they won Treble: league, cup and Champions League titles. This was Zanetti fifth but also his last Serie A title.

Despite having a great season with Inter, Maradona left him from 2010 World Cup squad.


Zanetti appeared for Argentina in 2011 edition of Copa America which was played in his home country. He played in all four matches. They lost from Urugvay in quarter-final.

   


Last season of his career. 19 seasons with Inter. His last match for Inter was against Chievo. It was last match of 2013/14 season played in Verona.
