UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE 2018/19 MANAGERS DURING THEIR PLAYING DAYS

Second european football club tournament organized by UEFA, Europa League. Here you can see all 2018/19 season club managers during their senior football careers. Of course not all of them played football professionally like Auturoi, Tripišovski, Musayev and Nikolić. Current Arsenal manager Unai Emery won Europa League three times in a row, all with Sevilla. Some of these managers have won it like players.


Heiko Herrlich (Bayer Leverkusen): Here as a player of same club in 1989/90.

Paulo Autuori (Ludogorets): Autuori never played football professionally. He started his coaching career back in 1975. Here you can see him as coach of Maritimo in 1992/93.

Sergei Semak (Zenit): Semak won UEFA Cup (todays EL) in 2005 with CSKA. Here is he in jersey of Rubin Kazan 2009/10.

Ricardo Gomes (Bordeaux): As Benfica player in 1995/96.

Jindrich Trpišovski (Slavia Prague): Jindrich never played football professionally. Here on this picture as a Slovan Liberec manager.

Unai Emery (Arsenal): As Real Sociedad player in 1995/96. Emery won 3 Europa League titles as Sevilla manager.

Jose Peseiro (Sporting CP): Here as a player of smaller Portuguese club Oriental in 1984/85.

Gurban Gurbanov (Qarabag): He is current coach of both Qarabag and Azerbaijan national football team. Here as a national team player in 2004.

Vasyl Sachko (Vorskla Poltava): Here as a player of same club where he played from 2008 to 2012.

Pedro Martins (Olympiacos): Martins in Sporting 1995/96.

Gennaro Gattuso (Milan): Ivan as a player of Salernitana in 1998/99.

Quique Setien (Betis): Here as s Santander player in 1981/82. 

Dino Toppmoller (F91 Dudelange): Dino as Bochum player in 2001/02.

Javier Calleja (Villarreal): As a player of same club in 2001/02 season.

Pablo Machin (Sevilla): In his short football career Machin played for Numancia and their B team.

Murad Musayev (Krasnodar): Musayev wasn't a professional footballer. He started his coaching career in 2005 being coach of Krasnodar youth teams, reserves... From 2018 he is coach of A team.

Michel Preud'homme (Standard Liege): He was a Liege goalkeeper for about 10 years. Here as a young player for Standard in 1981/82.

Cihat Arslan (Akhisarspor): Arslan in a jersey of Kayserispor 2002/03 

Alyaksandr Khatskevich (Dynamo Kyiv): Here was also a footballer of great Dynamo Kyiv team from late 90s.

Roman Hryhorchuk (Astana): Don't know in which club jersey is this photo.

Sabri Lamouchi (Rennes): Sabri in jersey of Auxerre in 1994/95.

Petr Rada (Jablonec): Here in Fortuna Dusseldorf from 90s.

Maurizio Sarri (Chelsea): On this picture as a player of amateur club Figline.

Razvan Lucescu (PAOK): Razvan as Rapid Bucuresti player in early 2000s.

Alyaksey Baha (Bate Borisov): Baha in jersey of Dinamo Brest 2008-2010.
