SERIE A MANAGERS DURING THEIR FOOTBALL CAREERS 2018/19

The 2018/19 Serie A will be 117th season of top-tier Italian football. Juventus is winner of last 7 seasons and also the main candidate to win it this season. The star of this season will be Cristiano Ronaldo whom Juventus bought from Real Madrid. Parma is back to Serie A after just three seasons after their bankruptcy and relegation to Serie D. Here on this post I will show you all managers of Serie A clubs during their football careers. Almost all of them played football professionally except two of them: Aurelio Andreazzoli and Julio Velazquez. This season we could see brother managerial duel as Pippo Inzaghi was appointed as Bologna coach this summer. It's impossible to find photos from Davide Ballardini and Leonardo Semplici during their playing days.

Julio Velazquez (Udinese): Velazquez never played football professionally. Here as Villarreal manager in 2012/13

MANAGERIAL CHANGES:

Gian Piero Ventura (Chievo): New coach of Chievo is former Italian manager Gian Piero Ventura. Here you can see him in US Sanremese 1974/75.

Ivan Jurić (Genoa): New coach of Genoa is their former player Ivan Jurić. This is his third time that he is appointed as Genoa manager.

Giuseppe Iachini: New Empoli manager, replacing Andreazzoli.

Domenico Di Carlo (Chievo): Di Carlo, new Cheivo manager. He was already there in 2011/12.

Davide Nicola (Udinese): Davide Nicola replace Julio Velazquez as Udinese manager. Nicola last worked as Crotone manager in 2016/17.

Claudio Cesare Prandelli (Genoa): After only two months Genoa got new manager again. It's former Italian national team coach Cesare Prandelli. He last worked as Al-Nasr manager.

Marco Baroni (Frosinone): Former Italian footballer Marco Baroni is new Frosinone manager. He replaces Moreno Longo. Baroni last worked as Benevento coach.

Siniša Mihajlović (Bologna): Former Yugoslavian national team player Siniša Mihajlović is a new Bologna coach. He is a well known face in Italian football because he played for several Italian clubs and later worked as manager.

Claudio Ranieri (Roma): Ranieri replaces Di Francesco as Roma manager. He already coached Roma from 2009 to 2011.

Aurelio Andreazzoli (Empoli): New/old Empoli coach is Andreazzoli.

Igor Tudor (Udinese): Former Croatian national team player Igor Tudor is new coach of Udinese. He replaces Davide Nicola and his mission is to save them from relegation. He did the same last season.
